Is ebay really that bad to buy from when it comes to Gothic lolita clothing?
Q. I've heard a lot of controversy about buying from lolita stores on ebay. I've looked at other places like annahouse and inthestarlight but they don't really have what I'm looking for (I'm kinda particular). I'm thinking of buying from cosplay007's store i can tell some of the pictures are stolen, but if u have ordered from ebay are the replicas really that bad?

A. Every Lolita item I've gotten from Ebay has had something wrong with it. I don t remember what shop it is, but one of them just hot glues the clothes together! I m sure that if you bought every single Lolita item on Ebay, you ll come across a good deal, but most of it will be complete rip offs. They may be cheap, but they REALLY are not worth their price. This site has just about every Lolita clothing link possible. I put the page of links where you can order without an ordering service. (Not websites that only ship to Japan.) If you are a beginning Lolita or are really low on money, I suggest you buy non brand name when you are still discovering your style. For example, if you want a skirt from the Japanese brand name Angelic Pretty,… [cont.]

How much would ebay charge me to sell an ebook in British pounds?

Asked by answergeek - Tue Aug 14 13:22:51 2007 - - 3 Answers - 6 Comments

A. eBays fees are dependent on two things. Listing costs and commission. There are established charges for an eBay listing. The more complex the listing, the more the cost. If you have a simple listing, text, no pictures, no reserve, no starting bid, that would be the cheapest. But add pictures, put in a background, pay for premium listing, add a reserve, put the starting bid at something more then minimal amount, and that costs more. As you build your listing, eBay will keep a running total of what it will cost to list your item, and you have the option to review that cost, and change your listing appropriately before you incur any charges. The listing fees you have to pay even if your item does not sell. Now, the commission. eBay… [cont.]

When selling on Ebay is it better to start the bidding lower than the than the amount you want for the item?
Q. I just opened an account on Ebay. Let me know if you know anymore helpful tips when selling on ebay. Thank You !
Asked by cattom124 - Wed Dec 31 13:39:27 2008 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Generally, you want to save on listing fees and let the (ebay) market to set the closing price. In most cases, this means starting the initial price at $9.99 or less. However, the only exception is for expensive items. With the current recession and sales at ebay (and most everywhere else) soft now, you don t want to get burned. Use you discretion with expensive items. Some tips that may be helpful to you . Be honest and accurate in your descriptions One-sentence descriptions are for lazy sellers. One paragraph should be sufficient for most items. My general guideline is the more expensive (read higher priced) an item, the more you should talk it up. It won t be time wasted. Use lots of adjectives in your descriptions. Adjectives… [cont.]

A. Adrian C: The two most useful links to see 'WHAT'S HOT' on ebay are: 1. This site lists all the 'hot categories' of items that are currently being sold. 2. This is a PDF file/list of all their hot selling items; Review it and you should be able to determine what product(s) are hot, that you can sell, as well as see what products are 'cold' and are not sellling as much...thus knowing what to stay away from. Hope this helps? RME

Asked by snapple - Sun Apr 25 17:32:31 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It really depends on how you list the item. If you list it as a 'buy it now' the percentages are based on what category your item falls into. If you list it as an auction the final value fee is 9% up to $50.00. The best thing to do would be to read on ebay's website. I am including a link to selling fees: Hope this helps. You need to check out all the fees, insertion, pictures, featured and all that also.

A. Ebay can be very rewarding..but also can be a pain. HA. You can put in as much or as little time as you want. If you are a full time employee elsewhere then maybe a few hours in the evening or on the weekend will be enough. You can sell almost anything you want. There are a few guidelines and I don't remember what is on the no-no list. I have seen lots of craft things on ebay. If you have a certain talent and would like to put this up for sale then go for it. Remember tho you are charged a fee to list. Once and item is sold then you are charged a % of the sale amount. People sale all manner of used things - from cloths dishes - etc. Also, I would invest in a heavy duty postal scale (I bought mine from another ebayer for about 40… [cont.]

A. It might not be an instant transfer. It could take awhile to do. But most refunds and payments are instant, so I do now know why your balance would still be the same. If it does not show up soon, then something did not work quite right. I would give it some time, though.

How is it possible for someone to sell information to a NON EBAY site ?
Q. This EBayer is deceptively selling CD's by only selling information to prospective buyers of where to purchase the same item at a lesser cost with free shipping. He has no inventory and is selling information. I have contacted EBay about this ( today ) and he STILL is selling ! Not only do I find that this is deceptive and wrong but, it is removing revenues from EBay. The other sellers ( of the same items or all CD's ) are losing out to his deception . Why does EBay not shut him down immediately for, they are losing revenues as well ? I am hoping you EBay folks will help me put an immediate stop to this person. If, you are selling CD's - he'll steal away all your potential buyers ! Anyone wishing to complain to EBay about this… [cont.]

A. Do you have Ebay stock? I don't understand why you would care if they, Ebay, doesn't care. You're putting "way" too much energy into it. Besides it's not deceptive if that is what the claim is. If people will buy toast on there then why not information?

How many Unpaid Item Strikes can I have on eBay before I get suspended and how many to get banned?
Q. Also, if I get banned, can I just make a new account on eBay and bid as usual? I heard of eBay IP banning people, but I have DSL and whenever my modem restarts, the IP changes. Does eBay have some method to get past a change in IP?
Asked by John - Tue Sep 1 23:19:37 2009 - - 2 Answers - 2 Comments

A. Why would you want to? Sounds like you're looking to cause trouble -- if you can't pay, DON'T BID. eBay is not a game, it's a legitimate marketplace where people are trying to buy and sell things. Your question, however, suggests that you're trying to be dishonest, cheat the system, and place bids that you have no intention of honoring. Find a different hobby.

A. As long as the seller you are buying from accepts International orders (thier Terms of Sale, TOS will specify this), you will simply bid on (and wait for the auction to end) or use Buy it now to purchase directly. If you use Buy it now, as soon as you confirm your purchase, you will be taken to a payment page. Click the Pay Now button and you will be taken to your invoice. You will look over the invoice, add insurance if offered and you want it, and then you will click the button that says Paypal. You will then be taken to the Paypal website, where you will log on and will be presented with a payment page with the specifics of the auction. Click the orange pay now button and you are all set! The seller will be notified, you will… [cont.]

A. You just need to keep records--they don't have to be fancy or look official, they just need to be accurate. So, if you buy at a garage sale, record what you bought, for how much, and when you sell, record what you sold, for how much. Then, track your other legitimate expenses. There are excellent websites which explain what constitutes a legitimate expense. Add up all your costs (purchase prices, other expenses, ebay charges, paypal charges, shipping, whatever). Add up all your sales. The difference between these two numbers is income and is taxable, exactly as other income is taxable. You are actually self-employed, running a small business. As a self-employed individual, you can set up retirement accounts, and do all the other… [cont.]

A. Actually being a Trading Assistant is the certified ebay reseller you describe. There is also an eBay Trading Assistant Discussion Board where requirements, information and tips-of-the-trade are exchanged. I'll tell you a few of my personal tips. 1. Never, never list anything that you don't have in your possession and control over. If your consignor finds a local buyer, changes their mind or refuses to release the item after a successful sale; you become a Non-Performing-Seller, get a strike against you and may get Negative Feedback. 2. Nobody who hasn't sold on eBay has a clue about the effort involved in photography, writing Descriptions, staging a item and proper shipping. Friends and relatives are aware of how easy it's become… [cont.]

Asked by GirlyGirl - Sun May 4 16:33:21 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Are you talking about "Ads by google" ads? If so those are called adsense ads and the cost will vary depending on many factors. Google does not provide any transparency about that. It varies by season and what kind of content is on your site (which governs the ads shown.) You can get an idea about the value of each click using many tools online. Some areas pay far more than others, so eBay will pay more. The google adwords keyword tool will tell you some basic information about the value of each click. You have to sign up for an account to get the one that shows this information.

A. Coupon codes are everywhere on the net. You can do a search for eBay coupon codes and u'll get a list of sites that collect these codes to share with other people. Not all of these codes stay valid. Some have expired or are valid for everyone that uses them. Actually, codes on eBay are preselected for different groups of members. Some will receive one kind of FALL code while some will receive one kind of XMAS code while others cld receive both. And they cld only be used once. These are randomly sent, but very seasonal. You'll receive the codes in your eBay messages and in an email with the details. Those are guaranteed ones.
