ebay.......?
Q. I'm wanting to buy a CHI off ebay, there are so many to choose from. I've never bought from ebay before, so what are some things I should be looking for to decide whether the item is as good as they say? do the cheaper ones not work as good? there is one for like $15 and another for like $75... would you go cheaper or buy the more expensive one?

A. Sorry,in the first place, I do not know what is CHI. And talking about ebay selling, you should ask questions to the seller like "I saw someone selling extact items from $75, why are you selling so cheap? Any reason for your item at this price?" Ask a lot of questions until you get enough information then you make your decision to buy from which seller. :)

Q. im on ebay bidding for a lawn tractor, then these robot computers things like raise my bid, thne i add 5 bucks and it still raises me again, until i met the deadline, but wondering how to people do these computer robot things on ebay to automatically bid???
Asked by Nick P. - Fri Nov 21 21:55:27 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Actually, it has nothing to do with that. The person you are bidding against had placed a bid significantly higher than what was shown. It is called proxy bidding. It will put his bid to whatever is needed to win the bidding at the moment. You then come in and start bidding. It shows that this other person has outbid you. It will continue to do so until you over bid them. Example: Items bidding starts at $5. Someone proxy bids $45. It shows that they're at $5 because that's the highest they need to win the auction currently. You come in and bid $10. It now shows that they've bid $11 as it's still less than $45, but enough to keep winning. You add another $10, now it shows they're at $22. Once you bid $46, then it will show… [cont.]

Is ebay really that bad to buy from when it comes to Gothic lolita clothing?
Q. I've heard a lot of controversy about buying from lolita stores on ebay. I've looked at other places like annahouse and inthestarlight but they don't really have what I'm looking for (I'm kinda particular). I'm thinking of buying from cosplay007's store i can tell some of the pictures are stolen, but if u have ordered from ebay are the replicas really that bad?

A. Every Lolita item I've gotten from Ebay has had something wrong with it. I don t remember what shop it is, but one of them just hot glues the clothes together! I m sure that if you bought every single Lolita item on Ebay, you ll come across a good deal, but most of it will be complete rip offs. They may be cheap, but they REALLY are not worth their price. This site has just about every Lolita clothing link possible. I put the page of links where you can order without an ordering service. (Not websites that only ship to Japan.) If you are a beginning Lolita or are really low on money, I suggest you buy non brand name when you are still discovering your style. For example, if you want a skirt from the Japanese brand name Angelic Pretty,… [cont.]

Can an eBay member start a dispute after leaving positive feedback?
Q. I sold an item to a buyer who, hoping to get some money back on it, threatened to leave negative feedback if I didn't give them a partial refund. After I offered them $15.00, they said $20.00 would get me positive feedback, but after checking my ebay profile, they already left me positive feedback! Can they do anything to harm my eBay account? And do I still have to give them the refund. They certainly don't deserve it. Thanks!
Asked by Chad - Wed Dec 16 18:02:20 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. There are only 2 disputes that they can do INR(Item not recieved) which they have the item, and SNAD (Significantly not as described) In the latter case they would have to return to you at their expense for a refund. Feedback is never taken into account for a dispute. If you have offered them a partial refund you likely think your listing was misleading or the item was not as the Buyer expected/broken/ You are not obliged to send them any partial refund- if they are not happy with it they should send back. Keep their message as that is extortion (asking for something extra for positive feedback) No they can't do your account any harm; and no they don't deserve it

On EBay, what is the best way to sell an item that you have multiple sizes of but its the same item?
Q. I have a dress that is in 5 different sizes that I want to sell on ebay. It is the same exact dress except for the different sizes. Is it better to make 5 different auctions for all 5 sizes? Or is it better to just do one auction and say I have differnt sizes? How would that even work?? Has any one done this successfully. Can you tell me the most effective way to sell something like this?

A. I would do 5 different auctions and specify what size each is in your titles, because it sounds like you want to sell them individually other than sell them as a package to 1 person. good luck!

A. It took me 7 months from the time I started using eBay to become a PowerSeller. The fastest way to become a PowerSeller IMO is to sell a large amount of inexpensive items. There are many different levels of PowerSeller status. At the bottom of the PowerSeller food chain is bronze. To be a bronze PowerSeller, you need to sell at least 100 items a month or make at least $1,000 a month for 3 consecutive months. It's really not hard to do but it does take a lot of work. How many days does an Ebay seller have from the time of purchase to ship the item sold?
Q. I purchased something recently on Ebay. The seller is reputable but has somewhat of a spotty record of shipping his items on time. Does Ebay set a deadline for when a seller needs to ship his item after it is purchased?
Asked by jblakely79 - Mon Sep 8 13:00:36 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. There is no set time that I am aware of but a good seller will note his shipping schedule in the listings. Some will ship within one to two days of payment. Others will note they only ship once a week and mention the day. Good sellers will also email you when they ship the item. If all else fails, just use the "Ask the seller a Question' link in the upper right hand side of the listing page and ask the seller when the item was mailed or will be mailed.

How do I start an ebay business without inventory?
Q. I was wondering if there's books, websites, ebooks I should check out that explain how to start an ebay business without holding inventory. I don't want a model already in place by Joblo who's selling it. I'm looking for genuine advice or a walkthrough on how to start and succeed on ebay without an inventory.
Asked by Freddy H - Wed Jun 27 01:26:01 2007 - - 0 Answers - 2 Comments
A. Yes, I agree with the concept of the above poster. You want to do a drop ship business. So that means the distributor you buy from will ship it directly to the customer. In this case you don't buy the product until it is purchased from you. D&H is pretty well established distributor doing drop ship, although you need a tax number to deal with them.

How is it possible for someone to sell information to a NON EBAY site ?
Q. This EBayer is deceptively selling CD's by only selling information to prospective buyers of where to purchase the same item at a lesser cost with free shipping. He has no inventory and is selling information. I have contacted EBay about this ( today ) and he STILL is selling ! Not only do I find that this is deceptive and wrong but, it is removing revenues from EBay. The other sellers ( of the same items or all CD's ) are losing out to his deception . Why does EBay not shut him down immediately for, they are losing revenues as well ? I am hoping you EBay folks will help me put an immediate stop to this person. If, you are selling CD's - he'll steal away all your potential buyers ! Anyone wishing to complain to EBay about this… [cont.]

A. What are you talking about? It'd really help if you told us. Anyway, you can buy cheap things from China some times as low as $4. Be careful, because many people have done this only to scam people on a string of high end auctions so buyers may be skeptical. Be sure to take pictures, lots of them from different angles and such.

A. Are you talking about "Ads by google" ads? If so those are called adsense ads and the cost will vary depending on many factors. Google does not provide any transparency about that. It varies by season and what kind of content is on your site (which governs the ads shown.) You can get an idea about the value of each click using many tools online. Some areas pay far more than others, so eBay will pay more. The google adwords keyword tool will tell you some basic information about the value of each click. You have to sign up for an account to get the one that shows this information.

The "suppliers" always seem to be either too high priced or they are selling broken junk. The clothing side is such a headache with all the fake stuff, trendy items changing every week, etc. I'm just looking for something reliable. I don't need to make a lot of money say a few hundred per month. TIA for any tips! PS. My "main" business right now is computer service and consulting. Again, I couldn't figure a way to sell that on Ebay. I do new custom computers and those naturally go for ridiculously low prices on Ebay. I couldn't even figure a way to cover my costs doing that. Can you guys talking about the flea markets… [cont.]

A. Go to Flea Markets and tag sales in your area. It will take a while getting to know which items will go for high prices on Ebay but i did this one summer, I made a decent amount of money. Just make sure you arent buying junk, anything that is REALLY pretty can usually sell if you buy it for a couple dollars. Brand names do help a lot.

Will eBay ship to a different address than the billing address of my debit card in Paypal?
Q. Its imperative that the items that I buy off eBay will got to my alternative address, rather than my home/billing address. The debit card that I've entered into my PayPal account is different to the address of where I am currently living. Will eBay/Paypal direct my purchased items to my billing address or my alternate one? Thanks!

A. eBay does not ship anything. eBay is a community of different sellers with their own different rules and policies of shipping. Anyway, when you make a payment, you will have an option to specify your shipping address within your payment. Just make sure you specified the one you need. Many sellers (especially PowerSellers) allow to ship to non-billing address. If not sure, you have to contact that particular seller and ask about it.

How do I post a picture on Ebay using a Kodak camera with Easyshare software?
Q. I am used to using a Sony Mavica, and all I had to do was put the floppy disc in with the pictures on it, and Ebay did all the rest. Now, even though Kodak advertises it to be easy, I cannot seem to get the pictures where Ebay will retreive them even after dragging them into the "tray". Thanks for your help! If I don't use the Easyshare software program, how do I store my pictures?

A. If you insist on using the Easyshare software for photos, then the easiest way is to open both Easyshare and your "my pictures" folder. Put the pics you want in the tray on Easyshare, then click and drag them into the "my pictures" folder. It's that easy, and that is how i do it.
