An auction is a process of buying and selling goods or services by offering them up for bid, taking bids, and then selling the item to the highest bidder. In economic theory, an auction may refer to any mechanism or set of trading rules for exchange. There are several variations on the basic auction form, including time limits, minimum or maximum limits on bid prices, and special rules for determining the winning bidder(s) and sale price(s). Participants in an auction may or may not know the identities or actions of other participants. Depending on the auction, bidders may participate in person or remotely through a variety of means, including telephone and the internet. The seller usually pays a commission to the auctioneer or auction company based on a percentage of the final sale price. From Wikipedia under the

We have an eBay store called norstarmuzik where we sell guitars. But there are getting to be some complications with ebay. Is there a other good site that allows both auctions, Buy-It-Now, and a store ( like 30 days or more listings)? Thanks! Asked by shgadwa - Sat Nov 17 16:28:05 2007 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments A. Yeah there is, there is, ebid.com just type that in, or search ebid and it''ll find it for you, they have a bunch of sites for various countries, they do buy it now, and allow you to promote to your online shop, unlike e bay, plus they charge a lot less, i think it is in fact free listings, fo about $8 per month membership or something, they have a bulk upload facility as well. You can use the paypal payment route, and they also allow you to apply Google checkout, which is worthwhile, as it is a growing choice of buyers, who object to the big brother attitude of Paypal But the thing is with other auction sites, they don't get the traffic that e bay gets, still you can list an item, until it sells for instance, and it isn't going to… [cont.] Answered by jon627083 - Sat Nov 17 16:43:50 2007 What is the best way to get eBayers to submit their auctions to me for free advertising? Q. Our site AuctionGab.net currently has more than 500 eBay members that use our free services. We advertise their auctions for free. But are now looking for more eBayers to submit their auctions to us for free advertising. I have been trying to spread the word on free auction advertising through Yahoo Groups, but am relatively new to this. Suggestions? Thanks! It can be as low as a penny, but if you want eBayers, go to eBay. Answered by MommyToo - Tue Jun 12 12:42:01 2007 When did the new final value fees for fixed price auctions on eBay come into effect?
Q. I just found out that eBay is now charging different final value fees for fixed price auctions. In the past, these FVFs were the same, regardless of the auction format - fixed price or not. Does anyone know when these changes come into effect? That is very important for me to know. Thanks. It can't be last year in August, because I sold a fixed price item in January, and I was charged the old fee. Asked by Koocachoo - Thu Mar 5 12:56:05 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. I think that they came into effect last year in August. There were several horrible changes to ebay at various times in the past year.
