An auction is a process of buying and selling goods or services by offering them up for bid, taking bids, and then selling the item to the highest bidder. In economic theory, an auction may refer to any mechanism or set of trading rules for exchange. There are several variations on the basic auction form, including time limits, minimum or maximum limits on bid prices, and special rules for determining the winning bidder(s) and sale price(s). Participants in an auction may or may not know the identities or actions of other participants. Depending on the auction, bidders may participate in person or remotely through a variety of means, including telephone and the internet. The seller usually pays a commission to the auctioneer or auction company based on a percentage of the final sale price. From Wikipedia under the

I live in a rural area and don 't get enough traffic for garage sells. I don't really want to set outside all day to sell a few items. The shipping cost is to high to be able sell anything and make any money from auctions. Is there some other way a guy can sell his junk? Asked by J. Q. I am planning on joining eBay's Partner Network and would like to know if it is possible (and in compliance with eBay's Terms of Use) to generate affiliate links for specific auctions I would like to feature on my website. In other words, every week I would like to feature 10 auctions of Nike sneakers which are red color and being sold by New York based eBay sellers; so, my question is, could I create affiliate links for such "cherry-picked" auctions? Thank you in advance. Asked by nickname - Sun Sep 14 10:38:04 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Yes. eBay has an API program that will allow you to promote specific auctions. Q. I came across some pretty fantastic cars at Japanese auctions but sadly they were out of stock. BTW, how do you find out the quality of cars at used car auctions? Asked by Lia A - Tue Sep 2 11:56:15 2008 - - 2 Answers - 2 Comments A. Japanese cars are world famous for their quality and testing standards. Add to this the good roads in Japan, the 'drifting' culture, and the fact that the Japanese are fanatic about keeping their cars in top shape, and you've got a used car market that's a buyer's goldmine. If you're buying Japanese cars off the used car market, make a note of the Grade that indicates the health of the car. Grade 5 indicates the car is almost brand new while Grade 2 indicates an unsuitable car. Some of the best deals can be found at Grade 3.5 and above.
